Children’s Support Worker (Bank)

Enablement Ark

We are employing 3 bank members of staff to work on Saturdays and in the school holidays to support our children with additional needs to access our care farm environment. This is a role which can end when the summer holidays finish, but has the potential to be extended if the right candidate comes along.

We are a care farm, which means we support adults, young people and children to learn farming and life skills on a nurturing smallholding environment. You will be joining a friendly, experienced staff team who support an awesome group of service users- no two days are the same!

The roles will involve:
  • Supporting a small group of children with additional needs to access the animal care activities around the farm, as well as craft and continuous provision.
  • Supporting our more complex children on a 1:1 basis- they may not be able to access the more structured activities so will need support to play with the continuous provision.
  • Assisting with animal care, mucking out, tidying up and other daily farm jobs.
  • Setting up and tidying away activities linked to the theme of the session.
We require some experience working with children, preferably children with complex needs such as autism, learning disabilities, communication difficulties and ADHD. No animal experience is necessary, just enthusiasm to learn and get up close to a variety of farm and small animals.
The role is bank, which means we can be flexible around how much you would like to work, and if you may need time to study. The Saturday club runs four times a month and the holiday clubs are four days a week in the school holidays.
